Prepare for Healthcare Industry Certifications
U.S. Career Institute's Medical Assistant associate degree online program qualifies you to sit for nationally recognized industry certifications. The certification exams you will be eligible to sit for—and we recommend upon graduating—include the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) exam and the Certified Billing and Coding Specialist (CBCS) exam, offered by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA). You are not required to take a certification exam, however, taking this additional step can help you market yourself to potential employers and validate your Medical Assisting knowledge.
Your CCMA and CBCS exam fees are included in your tuition - up to a $472 value†.Career Development Strategies
As part of your Medical Assistant program, you'll complete GE200, Career Development Strategies, in which you'll set goals, explore career opportunity paths, and prepare personal marketing materials (résumé, cover letter, and references). You'll prepare for interviews and create a job search plan to navigate employment options.
