How can I become a Pharmacy Technician in Illinois?
Meet Eligibility Requirements: You must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
Complete Approved Training: Enroll in a pharmacy technician training program approved by the Illinois State Board of Pharmacy or complete on-the-job training under a licensed pharmacist. Our program here at USCI can be completed in 4 months.
Register with IDFPR: Apply for a pharmacy technician license with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR). Submit the application, proof of training, and pay the required fee.
Certification (Optional but Preferred): Pass a certification exam like the PTCE or ExCPT to enhance job prospects.
